Know what to aim for. Understand what has changed. Make more of the days when you feel strong.
Flux 8.8.1 brings optional weight increases during your workout, clearer previews for every set and better explanations of your next targets. It also improves how Flux handles progress within a rep range and recovery adjustments in prebuilt programmes.
Make more of a strong session
Some days, the weight you planned feels more manageable than expected. You get to the top of your rep range and still have another rep in you.
With Dynamic Targets enabled in a generated routine, beating the top of that range can prompt a small weight increase for the working sets you still have to complete. The suggested step fits your equipment, and you choose whether to accept it.
An accepted increase carries into your next routine target when you complete the workout. If you hit the increased targets in the following sets, the completion summary can also offer another step for next time.
Dynamic Targets is optional and applies to eligible weighted strength exercises in Flux-generated routines. Your prebuilt programmes keep their own progression rules.
See every set before you start
A workout preview should make the session easy to follow, especially when the targets differ between sets.
The new table gives each set its own row, with weight, reps, effort target and rest alongside it. You can look down the exercise and see what changes from one set to the next. Timed exercises show their work duration without adding irrelevant rep or effort columns.
Whether you are checking the whole session or looking ahead to one exercise, the details are together before you tap Start.
Understand why your targets have changed
Open Next Up and changes to your workout targets are easier to spot. Clearer explanations help you understand how progression and recovery have shaped today's session.
For prebuilt programmes, that includes explaining when an increase you earned is being retained alongside a recovery adjustment. You can see what you are working towards and what Flux is asking you to do today.
Build up the reps before adding weight
A rep range gives you room to improve over several workouts. For example, if your target is 8–12 reps, completing every working set within that range means you can keep building towards 12 at the same weight.
Flux now handles that situation more consistently. Being below the top of the range alone will not trigger an unnecessary lighter workout, and the prescribed effort target is retained while you work towards the next increase. Planned recovery weeks and other recovery adjustments still apply.
Recovery that fits each exercise
Different exercises can need different adjustments on the same day. Adaptive Mode in prebuilt programmes now uses recovery for each exercise when deciding how to ease its targets.
Those adjustments stay separate from the progression you have already earned. A lighter session can account for today's recovery without overwriting the targets you have built towards.
Same access, clearer guidance
